Sin Sin Fine Art is pleased to present “Flux“, a solo exhibition featuring new works by Gerard Bookle. As Gerard always believed “Art needs a certain amount of spontaneity. I can paint figuratively but it doesn’t express what I want. Abstract painting frees the mind from the constraints of everyday life.” He continues on his journey searching, experimenting and expressing the "fluidity" in this new series body of works.

"I have chosen the name 'Flux' for the title of the show as it strongly relates to the method of painting but also because it is integral to what I am trying to express as an artist.  The World, our bodies, our minds, time, in fact everything is in a constant state of movement and fluidity. In past works and in fact all in this show, I have been and I am attracted to capture the essence of this. Be it a thought or a feeling or something more literal, such as the blurred landscape we see in our city that is constantly changing. Life is becoming faster and faster as it changes all around us.  Perhaps, I am trying to capture this blur in a still image but at the same time move with it too, as life moves forwards and goes with the flow."

Based in Hong Kong, Gerard Bookle formally trained at Ravensbourne School of Art and Brighton College of Art, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts.  He has been active in the Hong Kong local Art Scene since early 90's.  His collaboration with architects and designers has placed his works in various corporate collections, Swire Hong Kong, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, Wynn Hotel Macau, Shangri-la Hotel Beijing, Crown Hotel Macau.
