In the centre square of the painting is a photograph of the very first meeting with Sin Sin in my Bali studio in 2008, when she decided we would make a solo show in Hong Kong at her gallery on Princes Terrace. As Sin Sin is for me very often like a butterfly, I call the piece ‘Butterfly in a Box’.

As specialists often look at insects with magnifying glasses, I decided to put the photo of the memorable visit under such a glass to reveal more details and make the audience more curious.

The painting, in my typical ‘Colour Window’ style, frames the photo of Sin Sin.
